The overall flavor was nothing to rave about. After tasting it, I added some parmesan cheese to give it a different cheese flavor. It just tasted too much like cream cheese.

Looking for the Red Pepper Walnut Dip?

This spinach and artichoke dip does not appear on the show. On this episode, Ellie does a completely different dip, which you can find by searching for "Roasted Red Pepper and Walnut Dip" on this Food Network website. I'm giving it an average rating because although it's a good recipe, Food Network really needs to get its act together in posting the right recipes.

Will not Make Again

Even though I normally do not like dips made with cream cheese, I decided to give this recipe a try because I like Ellie Krieger. Unfortunately, the dip had a bitter undertone, tasted like cream cheese and the mozzerella should have been left out of the dip -- it made it stringy and hard to eat "cleanly." Who wants to serve a messy dip to their guests or family? And, the color? Well, it wasn't bright green, but reminded me of the unnatural green of Green Goddess Salad dressing. Ew. I will go back to the best Spinach and Artichoke Dip I've ever made, and, smartly (he's a chef, no surprise), it does not contain mozzerella.

Great dip for the "not a fan of mayo" type

I chose this recipe because I was looking for a spinach-artichoke dip, but 1) do not like mayo (in fact I am even kind of scared of it) and 2) like to make and eat healthy recipes. This recipe satisfied both of those, and tasted great. It was a hit at my football party! The leftovers are also great mixed in with scrambled eggs as a hearty breakfast.

Great!

I loved the dip...especially since I am not a big fan of mayonnaise. This recipe is one of the few I found that only uses a little bit of mayo.
