Would be great to serve guests since most everything is done earlier and put in crockpot with just the shrimp added last. Great meal 11/05/2007 at 06:48pm User: Jakelinne from Brooklyn, NY User Rating: This was an incredibly easy recipe and the turn out is delicious...i'll definetly be making it again! WONDERFUL FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT 11/05/2007 at 11:13am User: Donna from Fountain Hills, AZ User Rating: This is very easy and very good. Shared it with a neighbor and got a good reaction. I Will definitely make this again. Easy Recipe 11/05/2007 at 09:22am User: Sue from Columbia, MO User Rating: This was a simple recipe to prepare with a lot of kick. My husband and I both enjoyed it. Strange Undertaste 11/04/2007 at 10:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe had a strange undertaste. I believe the Worchestershire sauce was responsible. This tasted unlike any shrimp creole recipe this New Orleans native ever had. If I made this again, I'd leave that out and add a little garlic. Needs more spice 11/01/2007 at 01:09pm User: Sara from Leesburg, VA User Rating: I liked how easy this was to make but thought it was really bland. Perhaps using stewed tomatoes with green chilies help the taste. Delcious!!! 11/01/2007 at 08:34am User: Becky from Roanoke, VA User Rating: Loved it. Next time we need to add a little more heat. But it was sooooo good!!! Can't wait to see how the leftovers taste today for lunch. I'm sure the flavors have matured and gotten more spicy! Yummy!!! 5 for being easy and tasting great 10/28/2007 at 09:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I think the results were great for the amount of effort this required. We really enjoyed this quick meal. I reduced the chili powder and hot sauce, because I worried it might be too much....but it needed more kick so next time I will make it according to the recipe. Thanks for a great easy recipe! To Much Trouble for the results 10/28/2007 at 07:52pm User: ali from gallup, NM User Rating: Maybe if I had spent the extra and bought the shrimp peeled and devained it would have been worth the trouble. It was very bland tasting, I expected it to have more kick. I'll make this again!! 10/27/2007 at 05:27pm User: Helen from Mooresville, NC User Rating: This is a great recipe. I added frozen okra the last 30 minutes of cooking and a little more chili powder, we like things spicy. I will cook this again, my family loved it! You forgot the Creole 05/16/2008 at 06:30pm User: Sylvia from Kenner, LA User Rating: Luvya, Paula, but you forgot the Creole. What makes it 'CREOLE' is that it starts with a ROUX(1/4 cup oil, 1/4 cup flour) sauteed until golden, then the 'Trinity' is added and sauteed till limp, then the tomato sauce and a soupcon of water just to rinse out the can. Seasoned simply with salt, pepper, cayenne, and bay leaf. Cook for at least twenty minutes. Add shrimp and cook till done. Without a roux, you're cooking Shrimp in Italian Gravy or Shrimp ala Not From NOLA or Shrimp with Flaming Potholder(if you saw the show). Probably tasty, but not Shrimp Creole! Needed a little jazzing 05/14/2008 at 05:49pm User: Stephen from Hot Springs, AR User Rating: I doubled everything but the shrimp, added garlic and a minced adobo pepper with a spoonful of sauce. The roof of my wife's mouth fell out, but I thought it was FANTASTIC!!! My family loved this! 05/12/2008 at 05:11pm User: Cheryl from Hesperia, CA User Rating: We added a little garlic to the veges and some hot links to the sauce. A little "Gumbo Creole", it was yummy and I'm sure we will be making it again. Excellent 03/31/2008 at 02:57pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was great, easy and delicious! The only thing I did differently is added 2 cans of tomatoes instead of one to make a little extra saucy. YUMMY 02/25/2008 at 03:26pm User: Jennifer from Newnan, GA User Rating: It was very good...lol Never any leftovers! 01/19/2008 at 08:39am User: BOB from HAMPSHIRE, IL User Rating: My wife and kids all love this one. Used regular pot instead of crock pot and put in 2 pounds of shrimp for 4 of us. Buttered the rice before serving. shrimp creole 01/04/2008 at 09:45pm User: Dennis from Maysville, NC User Rating: Love your Shrimp Creole recipe. It was easy to make and very delicious! |
