very good 12/26/2004 at 09:52am User: AMANDA from stewartstown, PA User Rating: very good but in making them the dough was very sticky Yumm! 12/23/2004 at 09:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: great cookies, reasonably easy and very delicious! fun to make 12/20/2004 at 11:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My friend and I made these together as a holiday gift for my teachers. We had tons of fun making the candy canes, but they were a little difficult because the dough was so soft. Still the cookies came out delicious and all my teachers loved them! So-So 12/19/2007 at 08:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe is not good. The dough is to sticky. So don't try it. reminds me of biscotti 12/19/2004 at 06:14am User: MELISSA from irvine, CA User Rating: These cookies have a very mild flavor and turn out quite hard, like biscotti, so plan on serving them or reccomending them with coffee. They are very difficult to roll so chill them a while before attempting, adding flour only made them fall apart. Plan on spending a long time baking, these cookies are time consuming. Good 12/15/2004 at 01:25pm User: AMBER from Ephrata, PA User Rating: Was a very easy recipe to follow, but very hard to make the canes, the dough was really moist and breakable, had a lot of trouble keeping the strands together. Disappointing 12/14/2007 at 12:13pm User: Dana from Egg Harbor Twp, NJ User Rating: The dough was extremely greasy and loose, making it very difficult to shape. After 20 minutes of effort that resulted in making 2 awful looking candy canes, I decided to give up and mush the dough togethe to create rainbow peppermint cookies. Good 12/05/2004 at 07:56pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These cookies are so good it takes less time for something so good to come out! A simplification 11/23/2007 at 01:34pm User: Elizabeth from Fort Myers, FL User Rating: I've been making this for years and it is one of the prettiest and most seasonal of the 30 we make for gifts. But I've given up twisting two doughs and do just one plain one. By mixing some red food dye with some egg yolk, I can paint on the stripe, so the effect is there, along with the crunched candy and everyone loves them just as much - with far fewer disasters in the construction. Just like Grandma's 10/31/2007 at 01:43pm User: Sue from Loveland, CO User Rating: I had been looking for this recipe for years! It tastes just like what I had as a little girl. Thanks Great 10/13/2004 at 04:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have been using this recipe and baking these cookies ever since I can remember. My mother made them when I was young. This is a great festive cookie once you get a chandle on rolling teh two different colors of dough. yum 07/06/2006 at 08:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: it taste just like store bought candy canes but better Great cookies, but give yourself plenty of time... 01/16/2006 at 08:56am User: Sarah from Arlington, VA User Rating: I was inspired to finally make candy cane cookies for Christmas this year, so these were it. The flavor was great, and they were very cute - but very hard to twist without breaking. I ended up making somewhat fat candy canes so the twists wouldn't break. Candy Cane Cookies 01/08/2006 at 12:34am User: Anonymous User Rating: Very good for the holiday season. I added some almond extract for a little more flavor but other than that they were great. Loved the Cookies 01/02/2006 at 01:13pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Twisting the cookies together can be a pain, but they come out moist and delicious! |
