I made this using pancetta, not bacon. Since pancetta is so expensive I opted for 1/2 pound and found it to be more than enough for the recipe. Not sure about how regular bacon would work, but I'm guessing about the same. As for the red chili flakes, I cut that in half and the dish was still extremely spicy...I'll reduce to 1/4 tsp next time. Aside from that, this was very yummy...even the kids liked it but admitted it was overly spicy.

to much bacon flavor

I had alot of bacon that i wanted to find a dish to use it up in. I did not like the overpowering bacon flavor.this dish would be better with some sort of italian ham.

wonderful.....

So easy and yummy with fancy restaurant quality. Beautiful, gourmet and original dish. I made this exactly like the recipe and will make this alot more. Next time I might use linguine pasta so I can call it "B. L. T. " PASTA -for bacon , linguine and tomato. Thanks, Guy !

What a great side with the Oak Town chicken! We used a little more bacon in ours, around 6 oz of regular bacon and 12 oz of turkey bacon. Since this didn't provide near as much grease as a pound of regular bacon, we didn't remove any, and it still turned out wonderful.

Very fine Pasta

I made the chicken & the pasta from this episode. Everyone agreed that this was King! I recommend using more tomatoes ("sauce ingredients") or less pasta. But that is just my personal taste. A little extra Parmesan is excellent as well. It was wonderful to watch it melt into the warm pot at the end. I love basil & bacon, what better way to combine them!

Good Flavors

I saw this episode a few weeks ago, and finally decided to make it. It's packed with flavor. I was only cooking for myself so I just made a little less of everything, ie 1 cup instead of 2, and I substituted turkey bacon (I know, I was missing out) to cut down on fat, but it was still absolutely delicious. My parents tasted it and were asking for the recipe so they could randomly make it as well. I love you Guy, you and your food are great!

This was super easy. I used half the panchetta, a can of diced roma tomatoes, added the basil and some fresh baby spinach. Oh my word.... Kids loved it, this will go onto my "rotation" yummy, and easy. Just what I like. I also used rigatoni. Omitted the onion and wine....

AWESOME - Kids loved it too!

I chose this recipe because I had most of the ingredients so it was an easy pick. I'm glad I did. Even though it wasn't hard to make, it had a huge taste impact. I will definitely make this again!

This was one of THE best pasta dishes I've ever made! Super easy and very quick prep. I substituted a can of crushed tomatoes (all I had) and my bacon was peppered (also all I had). Other than that, I followed the recipe and it was so full of flavor, and great texture with the bacon. The whole family loved it and there was nothing left! Go Guy!

had to try it.

I made this last night and was so surprised. My husband said it tasted as though he were at a nice italian restaurant. I agree. The wine added a great depth of flavor. The only thing I did differently was chop up more tomatoes, as I wanted more sauce. Other than that, the rest of the recipe was perfect. I will definitely make this again.

this was excellent flavor, easy to make

I love love love this dish. It is easy breezy to make (in my tiny NYC kitchen) and so packed with flavor. The smokiness of the bacon and the heat of the chilli flakes (I added a bit more than the recipe called for) were a wonderful compliment to the sweet tomatoes and basil. Amazing flavor profile! I served this dish with a huge hunk of fresh Parmesan from the cheese shop and a few bottles of Syrah, trust me, this recipe is a winner. Thanks Guy!

Saw this on the show and thought it would be a great way to use some of the tomatoes & basil in my garden. It was delish! Definitely on the "repeatable" list at our house.

Simple and Hearty Meal

This is the first recipe I've tried from Guy Fieri. It was simple to put together and takes little time or prep. It's a fairly basic pasta dish, not terribly elegant but hearty and tasty. If you left out the pepper flakes this would make a great pasta dish for kids (though the crushed red pepper adds just enough heat to be interesting for adults). We'll make this again as a nice alternative to regular spaghetti.

Yummy
