Break Out the Napkins! 11/14/2007 at 02:36pm User: gary from trenton, NJ User Rating: Scallops were on sale so I looked for a pasta dish to use them with. This one has the benefit of shrimp as well and you don't need to spend a lot for big flavor. Spaghettini is not easy to find in our area but do look for it as the long dried noodles are hollow and benefit from this delicious broth. And as the previous reviewer said, find a good artisan bread. I used olive oil and rosemary bread and it provided a blast of flavor. Great Dish 09/13/2007 at 09:18pm User: Bee from Warrenton, VA User Rating: The directions for this dish are excellent. (Recommend putting all the ingredients into mis en place bowls so that there are no distractions when following the instructions.) The dish was just wonderful...sopped up the sauce with a homemade artisan bread. You don't want to miss a drop. Will be making this spaghettini dish again/ A definite keeper 05/04/2008 at 10:09pm User: beth from ft. myers, FL User Rating: My boyfriend and I have decided to try one new recipe each time we cook and this was one for the records. It was pretty simple to make, and living in Florida we often find shrimp and scallops on sale,so it was also very inexpensive to make. Next time we make it we will add another tomato and hot peppper for both flavor and color. Also, we both love garlic, and thought that it would be nice to have garlic in the broth. He made an olive oil sauteed spinach with garlic with hot sauce which was a wonderful side dish for the pasta. My 12-yr-old had it as a side dish with tilapia for dinner tonight and loved it. It is going into my recipe file for sure!!! Great dish 04/26/2008 at 08:57pm User: Lauri from Waterloo, IA User Rating: Pleasantly surprised after trying this. What an excellent recipe! Tasty and original. Used Gresio wine and drank what I didn't cook with. The family lived it and it reminded me of a pasta dinner I once had at a nice bistro in Kansas City...but better. I used half chicken broth and half water and changed up some of the herbs at the end using McCormics Basil Garlic Lemon dry seasoning and less parsley. It's easy to reduce too much so watch it. Yum! Thanks George and Johanna! |
