I served this at a party and received rave reviews. Not sure what all the hate is about. Even people who don't like strawberries loved it.

We like trying new recipes and flavor combinations. We did not like these flavors together. The proportions seem to be off...and his inspiration from the classic combination of strawberries, balsamic vinegar and marscapone cheese is sooooo much better.

THE REASON I WATCH THIS SHOW IS BECAUSE GUY IS AN INNOVATIVE COOK & DEFINITELY COLORS OUTSIDE THE LINES!! I SAW THIS ON THE SHOW & WAS INTRIGUED. I DID IT A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENTLY. FOR ONE THING,THERE IS A MISPRINT IN THE RECIPE-S/B 1/2C SHERRY VINEGAR, NOT SHERRY. I BASISCALLY FOLLOWED THE RECIPE EXCEPT I OMITED THE TOMATOES & ONLY MADE ABOUT 20 CROUTONS & SERVED THE WHOLE THING OVER MIXED BABY SALAD GREENS. IT WAS DELICIOUS-ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GET A BIT OF STRAWBERRY & BLEU CHEESE TOGETHER-YUM!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, GUY!!

this was worth trying. I used an artisan loaf of bread from COSTCO and then followed the recipe...it was great. Served it with spinach, garlic and sundried tomatoe stuffed pork roast and a nice Alaskan amber beer.
A disaster waiting to be eaten........
