Pretty Good

I really enjoyed this recipe. I have to say I made quite a bit of substitutions. I didn't have cresent rolls, so I used an old baguette sliced thinly. I did not have jack or blue chesse so I used smoked mozzarella and brie. I did not have any of the problems mentioned about soggy crust. It was quite crunchy and delicious.

excellent

too much, too much. Acidic and salty. Needed something to cut all the tomato and pepper and olive, oh my.

I liked these slices very much. The blue cheese and the olives made an interesting combilation and flavor. Good Job Sandra. Love your recipes. Many of my saved recipes are yours. They are easy and decilous. Thank You

Easy and Delicious!

I love this recipe. The slices are easy to make, and as long as you aren't heavy handed on the toppings, the dough bakes up crisp, light, and delicious every time. I recommend doubling the recipe if you're serving more than two people. I made this for myself and my partner and we ate all of it and wished we had more!

Soggy and peculiar tasting

Crust needs improvement

I found the crust to be the problem. Perhaps a pizza dough crust would be better as the crust was too sweet and far too limp.

What did I do wrong?

I watched the show today and this recipe looked very good and easy so I tried it....Soggy, soggy, crust. Thought I forgot to maybe cook the dough first. Logged on and the recipe did not say to cook first. BUT, after reading other reviews I will make it again and cook the dough a few minutes before adding the toppings. Had to throw mine away, not good.

The crust was very soggy

Very good dough pre-baked

After a soggy first effort I used canned pizza dough on a baking sheet instead of canned crescent rolls and I baked it for 5 minutes before putting on the toppings. I also dried the roasted bell peppers on paper towels. With the minor changes it was delicious and simpler and I'll cook again.

Will not make again

A BIG HIT

I made these for a party and everyone gobbled them up and wanted more. The only thing is I did bake the crescent rolls off first for about 8 min then topped and finished them as per receipe. Will make again and again.

I also made changes

I substituted Ritz crackers for the dough, topped them with colby and the tampenade. I left out everything else. It was very good.

Made some changes

I noticed a lot of people had trouble with this recipe so I took their comments under advisement. I used the dough as a 'blanket' and wrapped the slices around some weiners, which I had pre-sliced and stuffed with mild cheddar cheese. I left out the red pepper and tapenade (vegetable matter makes my husband break out in hives) and baked until golden brown on top. I would rate them a 5 but it doesn't seem right to rate a recipe I didn't make so I'll leave it at a 3. Thx.

Yummy

After reading other reviews I altered the cooking process a bit. I baked the crusts for 5 minutes before adding the toppings. My crusts were very crispy and flakey. Quite delicious actually. I made sure the pepper slices were not too wet. I just let them sit on a paper towel after slicing them. I hate olives so I used pesto instead of the olive tapenade. I did not find the flavor combo too overpowering at all but that could be due to the pesto. I will make again

Terrible combination of flavors

I think it would have been better with just dough, tomato sauce and one cheese. Adding all the other stuff to it made it taste bad and also made it hard to eat. The toppings fell off.

Great layered flavor

I saw this on the show this morning and logged on here to download the recipe right away. I made it for my card club this afternoon and it was a hit! You could just see all those great flavors in each slice. They were crispy and delicious. I recommend these wholehartedly!

The kids and I made this for a quick lunch after seeing it on tv. It was terrible. Soggy, salty and really bad tasting. The kids and I both hated it.

Too many strong and competing flavors.

There are too many strong and competing flavors here. The red peppers and olives should be the stars here, but they are overpowered by the cheeses, especially the blue cheese.
