This is a great simple recipe. I would recommend using fresh green beans as it makes it so much better. I also used a whole lemon. The lemon and the butter just make the recipe.

I just made this for my husband and I for Thanksgiving as one of our sides and it was very good. It's super easy to make and, when your worrying about so many other things in the oven, it's really nice to have this quick and easy side that cooks on the stove!

Maybe the fried onions make the recipe, because I didn't have any and it was very bland.

This side dish was simply delightful. I used less fried onions and added some onion salt. I will make it again. Rachel, you do good!! ;) I agree that it is a fantastic alternative to the conventional green bean casserole with cream of mushroom soup! Your Thanksgiving guests will be impressed.

The best green beans ever! I have always loved country style green beans, but my family hates them. These are so crispy and fresh tasting, and the almonds add incredible flavor. My husband and son beg me to make these!

This dish is easy and elegant and really tasty. My picky 12 year old daughter loves this recipe and says it is the only way she can eat green beans! The lemon gives a great flavor. I bought gourmet fried onions (imported from France) at our local specialty store and I think it really makes a difference. This can be used at a dinner party or for a simple weeknight dinner. And it is so easy--a winner!

This dish went over well with all of my family and guests. I used frozen petite green beans due to the season. I also used dried rosemary which I secured in a bundle so as to remove it later. Easy and delicious!

The almonds added a great taste to the green beans. Be careful not to let them sit over the heat for very long--I had a couple that were burnt.
