This is going in my personal collection 12/30/2006 at 08:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I can't say enough about this recipe. It was a little time consuming, but very easy to make. I forgot to chop the spinach before adding to the cheese sauce, so I transfered everything into my food processor and the problem was solved. I left out the artichoke (husband's personal preference), added crab, and served in a bread bowl (this recipe is enough for two bread bowls). Literally, this dip was gone within 5 minutes of me setting them down on the table. The cayanne pepper added a pleasent kick to the dip. I'm craving it as I type. If you like spinach dip, try this one, you will not be disappointed. very good but a little dry 12/11/2006 at 01:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: this was very good but it was a little dry - part of it is because the "diet" ricotta is not quite as creamy as the regular stuff - for a lite dip this is excellent. I substituted panko for the bread crumbs which worked nicely but does not brown quite as quickly in the oven. 5 12/02/2006 at 11:56am User: Kimberly from Kingsport, TN User Rating: This recipe was easy and very tasty!! I took it to a party and it was the best thing there. The only modification that I might make is upping the spinach. Otherwise, fantastic!!! Awesome! 05/13/2007 at 05:13pm User: Stephanie from middletown, MD User Rating: I make this a lot. It is just awesome. Its simple to make but I will not make the other recipes that are much more simple than this. Its truly "homemade". Its a hit for my get togethers! AWESOME 04/07/2006 at 10:14am User: cynthia from st nazianz, WI User Rating: It tasted like the dip you get from applebees. it was wonderful thanks again for something oh so goood!!!! Perfect Dip 04/06/2006 at 10:35pm User: tiffany from Aliso Viejo, CA User Rating: It is a bit time consuming if your doing it while getting ready for a party but you can make it a few hours ahead of time and put it into a crock pot. Great for parties. a terrific dip! 03/29/2007 at 02:28pm User: lisa from reading, PA User Rating: I make this often for parties-and someone always asks for the recipe! Better than a Restaurant! 03/28/2007 at 08:27am User: jennifer from Mount Dora, FL User Rating: We order this at restaurants a lot..but we all agreed this recipe is the best we have had. For me, I need a helpre so that I can stay by the pan and add things a s I need them. If I were making this alone I would need to prep everything ahead and line it up. The results are amazing. I am sure this will become a tradition for holidays and parties at our house! True test 03/20/2007 at 01:10pm User: Nancy from Cheverly, MD User Rating: I made this recipe for a family St. Patrick's day gathering, served with store bought tostito strips and everyone raved. Slightly time consuming to prepare but well worth the effort. I would use a slight bit more cayenne next time around. Great Dip 03/14/2007 at 09:33pm User: Ameer from Milwaukee, WI User Rating: This dip was not hard to make and it taste amazing. Would'nt Change a thing. Fabulous! 03/12/2006 at 05:56pm User: Lee from Cantonment, FL User Rating: This was easy to prepare, and I added lump crabmeat to it to "kick it up a notch". Great results, and a very big hit. EXCELLENT CROWD PLEASER! 03/08/2006 at 07:23pm User: BETHANY from Port Orange, FL User Rating: This dish takes a bit more time and effort than a regular party dip but is definitely worth it! I made a double batch for this year's super bowl party and it was completely gone within 20 minutes, only wish I'd made more. Awesome Artichoke 03/06/2006 at 12:57pm User: Michael from Addison, TX User Rating: Very easy to prep. Guests loved it. Great! 02/26/2006 at 12:41am User: Jessica from San Diego, CA User Rating: This was great, and the chips were excellent. I had never made my own chips, but it was well worth it! The prep time for the dip was the only negative. The things we do 02/23/2006 at 02:59am User: Anonymous User Rating: I loved this recipe. I didn't have any problems and it came out great. You can season this to satisfy your taste buds and it came out great! I even fried my own chips! Oh yeah, the kids loved it. Best way to get them to eat spinach!!! almost perfection 02/20/2006 at 07:09pm User: April from South Weber, UT User Rating: This was a great dip but I thought it would be better with a little less spinach and to coarsley chop the spinach. I made this for our superbowl party and it was a hige hit! A real crowd pleaser 02/13/2007 at 02:03am User: Mary from Weiner, AR User Rating: I made this for our neighbors who came over to watch a night of boxing. Everyone loved it. A little time consuming - but well worth the effort. Awesome 02/13/2006 at 01:01am User: Erin from Vicksburg, MS User Rating: This dip was amazing. It was so simple to make and tasted and looked like I slaved in the kitchen for hours. better than a restaurant 02/12/2007 at 11:32am User: Jeanie from Sterling, VA User Rating: I made this for the first time for company and it was fabulous. People ate it up like it was going out of style. It's not nearly as greasy as getting this in a restaurant so I felt better about eating it in large quantities. :) needed doctoring up 02/12/2006 at 03:54pm User: LESLIE from Mount Vernon, NY User Rating: After I finished the recipe I found it to be bland and gluey tasting. I dumped in another 1/2 cup of parmissan cheese and 8 ounces of grated mozzarella and it was much better. It might even be decent on top of pasta. Great! 02/07/2007 at 06:06pm User: Brooke from Emporia, KS User Rating: This recipe was awesome! I love dips with lots of veggies and this has tons of artichokes and spinach. It wasn't as heavy as some artichoke dips I've had. Huge hit! Delicious! 02/06/2007 at 11:13pm User: SARA from Boston, MA User Rating: I used a little less artichoke and a little more spinach than the recipe called for (just because I really like spinach), which worked out well. I used baby spinach, which made it easier because I didn't have to chop it up before adding it. I served mine with pita chips, it was great! You'll love this one 02/06/2006 at 08:33pm User: Shawn from Alta Loma, CA User Rating: I made this for my fiancee last night, and it was just wonderful. It has the perfect balance of spinach and artichoke, and it leaves you to decide how much spice you want to it. Delicious it is!!! 02/06/2006 at 01:33pm User: angela from simpsonville, SC User Rating: I just made this for my superbowl party. What a hit with everyone there. Wasn't sure what he meant for cayenne pepper, but I used about six shakes of tabasco. What a great flavor that added to the recipe. I also used 2% milk, and instead of two cans of artichokes hearts, I used one can of regular artichokes hearts and one jar of marinated artichokes hearts (drained). It was absolutely delicious!!! artichoke & spinach dip review 02/05/2007 at 03:19pm User: Bernadette from Calistoga, CA User Rating: This dip is a nice change to the much used spinach dip of a few years ago, plus with leftovers, I just added some milk & used the boat moter to puree it, than it bacame a wonderful soup. Terrible 02/05/2006 at 10:22pm User: Sherrie from Azusa, CA User Rating: The worst part was that the prep. time was at least double, not to mention the baking time, which was more than double. It took 2 large saute pans, 1 large mixing bowl and a baking dish to prepare. Way too much clean up. I also question the use of Jack Cheese in this particular recipe. It should have been mozzarella if anything. Quick & Easy Entertainment for Superbowl 02/05/2006 at 05:48pm User: Andrea from Florissant, MO User Rating: This is an excellent appetizer for all types of parties. Mmmm! 02/05/2006 at 05:08pm User: Tiffany from Highlands Ranch, CO User Rating: This is so much better than every other spinach dip I have had. It was so creamy! As Emeril always says 'oh yeah, babe!" Loved it, recommend it to anyone!!! Excellent Dip 02/03/2006 at 12:34pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is just as good or even better then the spinach and artichoke dips you get at any restaurant. I highly recommend. However I didn't fry my own chips, I used veggies and bought tortilla chips for dipping. Just as good. yum yum yum! 02/03/2006 at 10:34am User: Anonymous User Rating: too good!! Wonderful! Great 02/02/2007 at 12:01pm User: katie from none, PA User Rating: I made this for a party, and everyone loved it. I added 1/2 cups of pepper jack cheese in addition to the other cheeses and it turned out much better. Yum! 01/31/2006 at 08:57pm User: Aili from Los Angeles, CA User Rating: I gave this one five stars but I gave my actual dip I made a 3.5 ;). I first burned the flour and oil because it said heat on medium...so I had to start over and keep it on low. It turned out great but I went a little crazy on the Cayenne pepper and added way too much. Hey, I'm still learning. But it was delish despite the Cayenne. ALSO, SAVE TIME by using FROZEN SPINACH (thaw it and drain it well). I didn't make my tortilla chips either. Sorry Emeril, some of us don't have the time! Excellent!!!!!!! 01/31/2006 at 12:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is a perfect dip to impress your guests!! Out of this world 01/29/2006 at 01:00pm User: Christina from Shrewsbury, MA User Rating: This is the best hot dip I have ever had. I used to love the ones I would get when we went out to eat now none of them compare to what I make at home. Still need to try it..... 01/28/2006 at 08:40pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have not tried the recipe yet, but just like Pavlov's dogs, I salivated just watching Emeril prepare it. very good 01/22/2007 at 04:38pm User: Amy from Chambersburg, PA User Rating: This was excellent. I used a bit too much cayenne pepper I think. It was time consuming to make, but the end justified the means. Nutritional Excellence in "arti-spin" 01/21/2007 at 02:59pm User: Valorie from Columbia, SC User Rating: This is artichoke and spinach at it's best. It's homemade and easy. Thanks Emeril, Be Blessed a million times more than before. Disappointed 01/15/2007 at 08:53am User: Anonymous User Rating: I was really disappointed in this spinach dip. I added five times the amount of cheese to try to make the dip even tastier and I still thought the dip tasted bland. I had an easier recipe at home I should have just stuck with which is a lot more satisfying. Craves more cheese! 01/01/2007 at 09:34pm User: Kelly from Norwalk, CT User Rating: We made this recipe before having some friends over, and the prep is definitely a little complicated -- I wouldn't recommend making this if you're in a hurry or have a lot of other dishes to prepare! Otherwise, we prepared it exactly as recommended in the recipe and we tasted it just before it was ready to go into the oven. We both thought it needed more cheese, so we doubled the recommended amount for both cheeses. It tasted great and everyone liked it, but I think I'll try making other artichoke and spinach dips before coming back to make this again. Great for parties 01/01/2007 at 02:18pm User: Elizabeth from College Park, MD User Rating: This recipie was delicious! The prep time took a bit longer than the recipie stated, but it was worth the time and effort. We served it with cut veggies instead of chips and it worked really well. |
