Limoncello 12/31/2005 at 12:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very good with the lavender. I love this recipe. I make it probably once a month during the summer. Too much sugar? 11/27/2005 at 10:32pm User: LAUREN from Berkeley, CA User Rating: I think that the sugar and water measurements for this recipe might be wrong...other limoncello recipes have more water than sugar and this one turned out quite syrupy. Really good but too sweet 11/12/2006 at 12:17am User: DAWN from Celebration, FL User Rating: People are amazed when you tell them you make your own limoncello. That's half the fun -- and it's really not all that hard once you get into a rythem of peeling the lemons. I would cut back the syrup a little next time, I find it to be too sweet for my taste as written. It did have wonderful lemon flavor and color. sugary 11/03/2005 at 02:18am User: ana from san jacinto, CA User Rating: i'm going to use for my birthday party the whole episode we'll see how my cooking does. it looked apetizing and delicious thanks Exotic Elixir 09/28/2006 at 05:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is terrific. I have one bottle sweetened and one bottle unsweetened. P.S. For all the whiners out there recipes are ideas and suggestions which you may adjust to your tastes however uneducated they are. Lemoncello 09/22/2005 at 08:37pm User: MARSHA from Port Orchard, WA User Rating: It is kind of on the sweet side. Might try adding some ?? collins?? Hits the Spot 09/10/2005 at 12:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The worse part of this recipe is you must wait the 30 days to taste it! However, after the first day you can smell how great it going to be. I used Stoli as my alcohol and did not use the optional lavender (hard to find in the Caribbean) it was wonderful, next batch (and there will be a next batch)I will use a little less sugar. Very fresh, crisp and smooth taste. The color is a nice clear yellow. great and easy 09/08/2005 at 08:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Everyone loved the limoncello. obviously easy to make, but tasted great. almost ready 07/25/2005 at 04:13pm User: jimi from Roayal Oak, MI User Rating: The simple syrup is cooling now - the lemon/vodka is RIPE and I can't wait!!! Is this served over ICE / FROZEN / or STRAIGHT UP? How many ounces in an aperitif glass? Hilton Head 06/27/2005 at 10:27am User: Anonymous User Rating: Thank you so much for the recipe! You have saved me $20.00 at the liquor store. I am sure it will be great...even if I have to wait 4 weeks. wrong measurements 06/14/2006 at 10:04am User: Anonymous User Rating: this reciped turned out super sweet. i'm going to try and put some more vodka in it to counteract the sweetness. i really think 6 cups of sugar is incorrect. don't make this recipe until you look at other limoncello recipes and see how much water/sugar to add. Limoncello 05/22/2005 at 01:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I will make this today for sure. Syrupy-Sweet 05/17/2006 at 02:48pm User: Toby J. from August, GA User Rating: I agree that something is wrong w/ the sugar measurement--the end product is cloying at best. I love Michael, but something isn't right w/ this recipe; in order to drink it, we have to mix it w/ reduced cranberry juice, i.e., something especially tart to offset the syrupy sweetness. first time, PERFECT! 03/10/2007 at 05:43pm User: jason from Beaverton, OR User Rating: This is very easy to make. It turned out well. limoncello 02/21/2007 at 04:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Will make, but must comment 1st re: others saying the recipe is too sweet. Limoncello IS very sweet. Emphasize that syrupyness by keeping it in the freezer! deliciously refreshing 01/12/2007 at 06:10pm User: janie from Louisville, KY User Rating: Way refreshing!!, delicious, makes your taste buds dance and sing! |
