Over the Top!

Ina's done it again! This is absolutely fantastic. The recipe is easy and elegant. I ordered 2 coeur a la creme dishes from Amazon like other readers (thanks for sharing tips). It's light and heavenly, not too sweet. The raspberry sauce is a perfect complement. (My all-time favorite Ina recipe is Flag Cake and I make it all the time for my husband to take to work - they can't get enough. This rivals that.) Thanks Ina, you're the best!

Made this for Birthday at work, what an impression I made. This is great. I did change the "Vanilla Bean" too expensive, used an extra teaspoon of Vanilla, worked fine. This was so easy. Linda, Palm Desert,CA

I had seen Ina make this a few times and every time I was more and more tempted...but I am very anti-unitasker and did not want to buy the dish to make it in. This Valentine's day I sucked it up and bought one. It was very easy to make, and I even read wrong and added the jam to the raspberries in the sauce pan and it turned out fine nonetheless. The sauce was delicious (I might add a bit of fresh lemon juice in the future at the end), and the cream heart was decadent, rich, and as stated above, stunning. Truly the most beautiful dessert I have ever seen. For the ease of prep this will wow everyone. Thank you!

I couldn't not make this when I saw it as it combines all the things that make me love life- cream and vanilla :). I decided that I wanted to make it even more regal- so I substituted marscapone cheese for the cream cheese- it tastes like heaven and it's not even drained yet-- I have a feeling I'll win big points with this one!!!!

Words can't describe how fabulous and easy this dessert is. I've made this recipe multiple times and can always count on spectular results. People literally moaned the first time I made it for a "Barefoot in Paris" dinner party! It works well with low-fat cream cheese too. Thanks, Ina, for sharing such a wonderful dessert!

I never thought this dessert would be as good as other people were saying. whether or not you enjoy sweets, you HAVE to try this recipe. I later drizzled some melted chocolate on it, stuck few lady fingers in it, or even added banana to it. They are all as perfect as the plain original. One of few recipes that made my jaw drop down. I was a little disappointed in this, I was thinking I'd be WOWed by it, but I wasn't. It was good, and the raspberry sauce was DIVINE- but I ended up wishing I had a good vanilla ice cream instead of the Coeur a la Creme. I thought it would be more firm that it really is. It was a lot easier than I thought it'd be, which was a nice surprise.

This was the best recipe I have ever used! My only problem was that I also made the raspberry sauce the night before. I kept "tasting" the raspberry sauce to make sure it was good enough to serve. Well, I had to make another batch of sauce the next day! This recipe is a "no-brainer" and impresses everyone immediately. Next time I will serve it not only with raspberry sauce but also a chocolate sauce!

The Best Dinner Party Dessert

User: Terry from Potomac, MD    User Rating:
When you are doing a dinner party often you have to make decisions, how much time to spend on a dish. This dessert is simple to make, is done the day before the party, is delicious, and I absolutely guarentee this will bring on the applause. It almost doesn't matter what else you serve this is all they will remember. You do need to buy a coeur dish but they are available everywhere, just check good and type in coeur a la creme. Around $10. I think.

Absolutely delicious!!!!
