I had a bridal shower for a friend of mine and made these as part of the menu. My guests raved about them and I had none left! Delicious!

This was a wonderful starter for a mother's day party - I took the advice of others and used ricotta rather than cream cheese - it was just perfect!!

I made these tonight and everyone loved them. I cut the recipe in half and it made enough for 6 people as an appetizer.

Disappointing

I thought the goat cheese was rather bland. It definitely was lacking. I served it at a dinner party with two other appetizers. The other two were gone. While everyone tried the goat cheese toasts, I noticed they only tried one. Would not make this again without seriously changing the recipe.

What a crowd pleaser! Instead of olives, I used capers, and they were perfect.

I served this as an appetizer for a dinner party and got rave reviews! I subsituted olive tapenade for pitted olives since I already have a jar in the fridge. The result was marvelous!

very simple to make and serve as an appetizer. It's especially nice since you can prepare and keep this a few days ahead of time if need be.

Made this as an appetizer for the extended family Easter dinner. Terrible feedback from the adult kids, so my wife through out the leftovers. Bland, blah and not worth making. Disliked it so much this is my FIRST ever review, altho we've probably used 100+ recipes from the site. Don't bother!

Very good

This recipe went over well, but the amount of product it makes isn't really enough for a party. I'd probably double all the topping ingredients for next time. Still, there were no leftovers, which is always a good sign!

Not so great!

Recipe was bland and boring. I'd skip the cream cheese and even the suggestions to use ricotta, they both make it too bland. Was taking to a party and no one ate it, quite disappointed.

Recipe calls for Ricotta, not cream cheese

User: Kristin from Lynnwood, WA    User Rating:
My dear friend Christa served this with Sparkling wine and I just loved it. When I went to recreate it in my own home, I followed the recipe listed at the website which calls for cream cheese and found it wasn?t nearly as good as I remembered. When I relayed this to Christa, she said the recipe should be made with goat cheese and ricotta. I have since seen the episode where Giada makes this recipe and she does indeed use ricotta. And, on subsequent occasions of making this recipe with ricotta, I have found it to taste wonderfully fresh and delicious. People always want the recipe. Do yourself a favor and make it with ricotta the first time and enjoy.

goat cheese or cream cheese

I am a goat cheese maker and I would like to see a goat cheese recipe that has only goat cheese in it. Adding cream cheese (unless it's made from goat's milk) to this recipe should not be called Goat Cheese Toasts. I don't even know why you have to add cream cheese to the recipe. Just leave it out.

Very tasty, but missing something

User: Jennifer from Kirkland, WA    User Rating:
I thought these were quite good and tasty (as well as easy to make). However, I do think it's missing something, maybe a bit of garlic? I'll try that next time. Also, I think it's easier and faster to toast the baguette rounds under the broiler for a couple of minutes than to bake them.

Very Good!

I made these along with other finger foods for a Girl's Night and they were wonderful. I did not use the olives and forgot to use the chives - however, they were still very tasty. Nice and creamy with a nice lemony background. They were also so easy to make. Will make again and again.

Not enough Goat Cheese...

User: MICHELLE from New Castle, DE    User Rating:
I made these for my daughters first birthday party last weekend and I was a little disappointed. In the future I will use more goat cheese and less lemon. I love the taste of goat cheese and thought the lemon was to overpowering. Otherwise, a very good recipe - easy to make and pretty to look at!

This recipe would of been great if I liked goat cheese. Next time I will substituite it for another soft cheese like gorgonzola. The presentation looked pretty though!

This is the perfect snack for a bridal/baby shower. It tastes so good and it is so simple to make. The lemon zest really brightens up the flavors of the herbs and the goat cheese, it's in the back ground but it adds this tang that's just GREAT!!

This is a great recipe. It's fast and easy. I even for the lemon peel and we left out the olives because my husband and I don't like them. I think next time we'll leave off the olive oil, it's really not needed.
