Yummy! 11/03/2006 at 10:05pm User: Leah from Marysville, WA User Rating: This banana bread was a bit time consuming but well worth it. I doubled the batch, making 3 loaves just a bit smaller than the size recommended in the recipe. I also added chocolate chips as recommended by another reviewer. Very moist and delicious! This is definitely my new banana bread recipe. Wonderful! 10/24/2005 at 12:43pm User: Perlita from Lakewood, CO User Rating: I made this with chocolate chips instead and it turned out terrific! It was very moist and just the perfect sweetness- not overpowering. I made it for a work picnic and got many compliments on it. I will definately make this again! (Note: store it in your fridge.) Better Than Cake 10/16/2005 at 02:35pm User: LEANNA from Danville, AR User Rating: It took me a few tries to get it just right but it is worth it . what the heck 10/13/2006 at 01:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Why isn't this printed computer friendly? I'm so bugged about the wasted paper, I don't want to make it now. Better than your average BB 10/09/2005 at 05:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The chocolate and spices blend nicely to make this our new top banana - bread. yum 10/01/2006 at 11:28pm User: Anonymous User Rating: very good, moist, and just the right amount of chocolate and banana flavor. Maybe it was just my oven, but it took about an hour and a half to bake and not the 50 minutes suggested in the recipe. Super 09/20/2005 at 01:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was simple to make and came out very moist and delicious!! Will make again. chocolate lovers 09/19/2005 at 05:46pm User: Sherrie from Rutland, MA User Rating: This bread was great for the chocolate lovers. The only bad thing is....I ate at least 3/4 of it by MYSELF!!! a twist on banana 08/02/2006 at 01:48am User: doris from goleta, CA User Rating: the bread is wonderful; dense, moist, with a perfect blend of chocolate and banana flavors, and not too much sugar. the only thing it lacked, i thought, was actual chocolate chunks in the dough. i would reserve half the chocolate next time in order to create this. Best Banana Bread Ever 07/30/2005 at 05:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We love Chocolate in our house, so this was great. I used Semi-sweet chocolate instead of Bittersweet, just because I could not find it in my grocery store. It was still great. I also chose to not put any chunks of bananas in the bread because my three year old does not like bananas....so this way she doesn't know that there are bananas in the bread. great! 07/08/2006 at 08:40pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I'm not good with baking compared to cooking, but this was easy and delish! Much better than your average banana bread. More like cake than bread. I baked in a 8x8x2 pan since I don't have a loaf pan and it was done perfectly in the same time. Made a rasberry rum sauce for the top which was yummy, just add some sugar and a little rum to the rasberries and let it sit awhile. My guests loved it, will definitely make again. THE BEST 06/10/2007 at 01:48pm User: ANNIE from Minneapolis, MN User Rating: I followed this recipe to the letter and it made a fantastic banana bread. We love the chunks of banana in the bread, and the chocolate is wonderful too. Banana bread is one of my boyfriend favorite treats and he said that this recipe is his favorite. great, moist and delicious 06/06/2008 at 10:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: used chocolate chips and folded in with the last banana chunks to save an extra step and they were fantastic - making another batch as I write this, this time with walnuts into little muffins... disappointing 05/30/2006 at 12:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: not a lot of flavor, although the chocolate swirl was very pretty. The best bread 05/28/2006 at 04:05pm User: Laura from Kensington, CT User Rating: I love this bread everybody asks me were I got this recipe. I also say on line Food Network I always carry copies of the recipe and place them right next the yummy bread. The Ultimate Banana Bread! 05/27/2008 at 10:32pm User: Monica from Montreal, AL User Rating: This was absolutely heavenly - perfect in every way! Since I had no buttermilk on hand, I used sour milk instead (1/3 cup milk + 1/3 tbsp lemon juice), and only 4oz of semi-sweet chocolate. It turned out great in one large loaf pan. Had to bake it for 8 minutes longer on convection bake. This is a new family favorite! Best banana bread 05/01/2007 at 12:57pm User: Peggy from Brunswick, OH User Rating: Often times banana bread is questionable..as to "Where are the bananas?" or "Is this banana bread?" Make no mistake that this is the best banana bread mixture of chunky bananas and spices. It's only enhanced by the chocolate. You can make it successfully with or without the chocolate. Either way, it's a moist, satisfying hit with anyone who's tried it. good 04/26/2007 at 09:50am User: Anonymous User Rating: cook for 20min longer. Yummy! 04/07/2007 at 01:42am User: Anonymous User Rating: I used chocolate chips and just added them instead of melt the chocolate and it was a huge hit. Took it to a work potluck and I recieved so many compliments on it. Will definately make it again. DISAPPEARING Banana Bread 03/29/2006 at 06:59am User: Sheila from Alpharetta, GA User Rating: SUPER moist, SUPER delicious! So yummy and chocolately it will VANISH.....so double the recipe! The Ultimate Banana Bread 03/18/2007 at 08:54pm User: P from Sammamish, WA User Rating: This bread is the tops for banana bread. I can't keep it in the house for long when I make it. It is so tasty you want to keep eating it! Delicious! 03/18/2006 at 11:13pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Delicious banana bread recipe - very flavorful and chocolaty....I would add chopped nuts and maybe even mini chocolate chips to give it more of a crunch. I turned it into muffins - 25 - 30 minutes at 350 degrees. I have also made it as 3 mini loaves and 12 mini muffins. Almost ate loaf in one bite 03/08/2006 at 12:58pm User: stephanie from Washington, DC User Rating: great for a snowy afternoon with a cuppa joe! One of the best BB recipes! 03/05/2008 at 05:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've made this several times and think it's the best BB recipe I've tried. I've tried recipes that call for adding choco chips. But the addition of melted chocolate really gave it a decadent flavor. I use 4 oz instead of 6. Add 6 oz for a stronger choco flavor. Needed about 70 minutes to cook completely. takes time, but worth it 02/28/2006 at 02:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was fantastic. It did take some time to make, but well worth it. I liked how the bananas were not all smashed together. I melted my chocolate in the microwave and it was fine. This was rich!! This will replace my old chocolate chip bananana bread. banana bungler 02/24/2006 at 10:39am User: Anonymous User Rating: I seem to have trouble with making banana bread! I can bake just about anything except banana bread. This recipe is not only extremely delicious, but I couldn't bungle it! It was immediately gone. Everyone loved it. Great Bread 02/16/2008 at 02:12pm User: Dorothy from Camp Hill, PA User Rating: This banana bread is delicious! Love the chocolate and banana combo. May try it with chips instead sometime. Definetely needs to bake longer; at 50 minutes the center collapses. Not so easy... 01/08/2008 at 05:58pm User: Will from Verona, WI User Rating: This recipe didn't really work for me. First of all, use 2 loaf pans if you're going to try it. One loaf pan caused batter to get all over my oven bottom. Second, swirl the chocolate after the batter is in the pans. It was just too messy otherwise. I may try this recipe again after knowing what I do now. Good luck! |
