This banana bread was a bit time consuming but well worth it. I doubled the batch, making 3 loaves just a bit smaller than the size recommended in the recipe. I also added chocolate chips as recommended by another reviewer. Very moist and delicious! This is definitely my new banana bread recipe.

I made this with chocolate chips instead and it turned out terrific! It was very moist and just the perfect sweetness- not overpowering. I made it for a work picnic and got many compliments on it. I will definately make this again! (Note: store it in your fridge.)

very good, moist, and just the right amount of chocolate and banana flavor. Maybe it was just my oven, but it took about an hour and a half to bake and not the 50 minutes suggested in the recipe.

the bread is wonderful; dense, moist, with a perfect blend of chocolate and banana flavors, and not too much sugar. the only thing it lacked, i thought, was actual chocolate chunks in the dough. i would reserve half the chocolate next time in order to create this.

We love Chocolate in our house, so this was great. I used Semi-sweet chocolate instead of Bittersweet, just because I could not find it in my grocery store. It was still great. I also chose to not put any chunks of bananas in the bread because my three year old does not like bananas....so this way she doesn't know that there are bananas in the bread.

I'm not good with baking compared to cooking, but this was easy and delish! Much better than your average banana bread. More like cake than bread. I baked in a 8x8x2 pan since I don't have a loaf pan and it was done perfectly in the same time. Made a rasberry rum sauce for the top which was yummy, just add some sugar and a little rum to the rasberries and let it sit awhile. My guests loved it, will definitely make again.

I followed this recipe to the letter and it made a fantastic banana bread. We love the chunks of banana in the bread, and the chocolate is wonderful too. Banana bread is one of my boyfriend favorite treats and he said that this recipe is his favorite.

This was absolutely heavenly - perfect in every way! Since I had no buttermilk on hand, I used sour milk instead (1/3 cup milk + 1/3 tbsp lemon juice), and only 4oz of semi-sweet chocolate. It turned out great in one large loaf pan. Had to bake it for 8 minutes longer on convection bake. This is a new family favorite!

Often times banana bread is questionable..as to "Where are the bananas?" or "Is this banana bread?" Make no mistake that this is the best banana bread mixture of chunky bananas and spices. It's only enhanced by the chocolate. You can make it successfully with or without the chocolate. Either way, it's a moist, satisfying hit with anyone who's tried it.

I used chocolate chips and just added them instead of melt the chocolate and it was a huge hit. Took it to a work potluck and I recieved so many compliments on it. Will definately make it again.

Delicious banana bread recipe - very flavorful and chocolaty....I would add chopped nuts and maybe even mini chocolate chips to give it more of a crunch. I turned it into muffins - 25 - 30 minutes at 350 degrees. I have also made it as 3 mini loaves and 12 mini muffins.

I've made this several times and think it's the best BB recipe I've tried. I've tried recipes that call for adding choco chips. But the addition of melted chocolate really gave it a decadent flavor. I use 4 oz instead of 6. Add 6 oz for a stronger choco flavor. Needed about 70 minutes to cook completely.

This was fantastic. It did take some time to make, but well worth it. I liked how the bananas were not all smashed together. I melted my chocolate in the microwave and it was fine. This was rich!! This will replace my old chocolate chip bananana bread.

I seem to have trouble with making banana bread! I can bake just about anything except banana bread. This recipe is not only extremely delicious, but I couldn't bungle it! It was immediately gone. Everyone loved it.

This banana bread is delicious! Love the chocolate and banana combo. May try it with chips instead sometime. Definetely needs to bake longer; at 50 minutes the center collapses.

This recipe didn't really work for me. First of all, use 2 loaf pans if you're going to try it. One loaf pan caused batter to get all over my oven bottom. Second, swirl the chocolate after the batter is in the pans. It was just too messy otherwise. I may try this recipe again after knowing what I do now. Good luck!
