SOOOO GOOD! 08/17/2008 at 11:22pm User: Amelia from Vero Beach, FL User Rating: This was the absolute best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had. The cilantro was a great touch. A couple changes: *I too used a Boboli crust instead of the Pillsbury dough (which has hydrogenated oils in it). *I brushed the crust with olive oil and crushed garlic. *I used a bit of salt and pepper when cooking the chicken. *Instead of cutting the chicken into cubes, I shredded it with two forks. Great! 07/16/2008 at 07:49am User: Tomi from Andover, KS User Rating: ....I added roasted red peppers and some bacon bits. I also used a ready made crust that I brushed with evoo and rubbed with garlic. Such an easy and quick recipe with a ton of taste! I wouldn't skip the gouda...yummo! Great summer entree! 06/20/2008 at 01:18pm User: Vanessa from Livonia, MI User Rating: Great summer entree! Yummy Pizza 04/06/2008 at 07:35pm User: Linda from Independence, MO User Rating: This BBQ chicken pizza is so good. I replaced the gouda cheese with colby jack and it was delicious. It was a great crowd pleaser. Thanks Sandra I did it MY WAY......... 03/29/2008 at 10:31pm User: LYNN from Merced, CA User Rating: ok I used this recipe as a base and followed it pretty well but I did change some things...for one...I didnt use the dough in a can...I cant stand that stuff...I used bridgeford frozen bread dough and after it unthawed I just stretched it out to fit a square pan...as far as the bbq sauce I used one that was hickory smoked with honey in it and I added hot pepper seeds like you get at a pizza place......I did not use the gouda or the parmesan and did not measure anything..I just added as much as I wanted...it turned out great and we went through 2 pizzas...will definitely make this again...but my way!! Yummy Pizza 03/04/2008 at 09:29pm User: Nicholle from Herriman, UT User Rating: Another great family hit! I loved the flavor. I added alot of extra gouda cheese. Really yummy flavor! Doctored it up 08/15/2007 at 12:35am User: Anonymous User Rating: I doctored mine up a bit and it was great. My kids and husband liked it. We will make it again and I will try other kinds of pizza also since this was our first. Too ez to not try 08/04/2007 at 08:38pm User: Demo from Houston, TX User Rating: Great ez with kids plus it tastes great. I've been making this pizza ever since I saw it on the show. Please keep the great pizza recipes coming. THANKS! Absolutely delicious, one of the best pizza's I've tasted from the tv recipes yet! BBQ chicken pizza 07/12/2007 at 12:20pm User: Ashley from West Greenwich, RI User Rating: I loved the ingredients for this recipe and it was very fresh. I think that the dough didn't have a lot of flavor and it wasn't what I had expected, but overall very yummy! BBQ Chicken Pizza 07/11/2007 at 08:01am User: Anonymous User Rating: We will definetly make this again and are going to add pineapple chunks for a sweet version - very easy! Not good 06/29/2007 at 09:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Eventhough I never liked her shows, this sounds interesting, so I tried it. Not my type of food, did not like it. I will stick to other shows like Ina, Tyler, Emerill and Giada Loved it! 06/29/2007 at 01:07pm User: Shauna from Fredericksburg, VA User Rating: It was easy and wonderful! My husband was hesitant at first, but it was gone in no time. I'd make it again anytime for friends and family. pretty good 06/25/2007 at 06:15pm User: Laura from Brighton, MI User Rating: Use extra onions and not as much chicken. I could not afford to buy the $10 hunk of Gouda for just this recipe so I used Monterey Jack instead. Solid BBQ Pizza 06/24/2007 at 09:57pm User: TRACI from Klamath Falls, OR User Rating: Excellent recipe, we just would have rather had a homemade crust. Store bought crusts are too sweet. Try it on the grill, it worked great. Delicious 06/19/2007 at 09:41am User: Judith from Bayville, NJ User Rating: This recipe was so easy to make and tasted so good. I usually only get BBQ pizza at gourmet pizza restaurants and this tasted just as good if not better. I used whole wheat pizza crust to make it a little healthier. quick and ease 06/17/2007 at 12:14pm User: melissa from pontiac, MI User Rating: i add'it mushroom to it and my kids and i eat alf the pizza:) Excellent. 05/16/2007 at 10:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This I love this pizza! love it 04/11/2007 at 08:30pm User: amy from Phoenix, AZ User Rating: so easy and a treat for the whole family-yum! quick dinner 03/21/2007 at 02:09pm User: Renee from Laconia, NH User Rating: This is a good, quick recipe for dinner when you don't have lots of time. I used pre-made dough from the grocery store and leftover chicken. It was good. excellent! 03/09/2007 at 12:11am User: KATE from Redondo Beach, CA User Rating: A great recipe. I used trader joes pizza dough, with corn meal. I roasted the chicken to keep it tender, and added a little soy sauce in with the bbq sauce. I also added shredded carrot, and bell pepper. Very good recipe, easy to make and a huge crowd pleaser. Ver close to CPK! Thanks Sandra, semi homemade is the way to go for working women like me :) pretty good 03/03/2007 at 08:39am User: Kristin from Romeoville, IL User Rating: My husband loved it, I thought it was pretty good. I used a different cheese but otherwise yummy! Just like CPK 02/25/2007 at 03:36pm User: CHARMAINE from Paterson, NJ User Rating: THis was great! Tasted just like the California Pizza Kitchens' BBQ pizza. MY husband loves it. Made this 3 times in one week 02/25/2007 at 10:54am User: karen from Glenview, IL User Rating: This was a hit with the whole family. Also made it as individual 3 inch appetizer pizzas. This was a lot more labor intensive and messy, but it was voted the best appetizer at the party. Yum 11/16/2006 at 07:41pm User: Brianna from Oxford, AL User Rating: This recipe worked out good for us, although I did use twice the chicken, and I cooked onions w/ the chicken. I thought it was delicious! Add pineapple too 10/31/2006 at 09:34pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have made this on countless occasions for my boyfriend. He also likes it with diced pineapple. excellent 10/30/2006 at 05:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: and nutritionally it's a hit as well Loved it! 10/29/2006 at 07:03pm User: Kelley from San Antonio, TX User Rating: My husband & I loved this pizza. I used 1 pound of chicken & when I cooked it, I added 1 clove of garlic, minced. I also added a touch of salt & some basil to the chicken. I used a lot of cheese, because that's what makes a pizza yummy. Will make again, for sure. Loved by all and requested often! 10/29/2006 at 09:57am User: Kathleen from Altoona, PA User Rating: Really good and nice change from traditional pizza. Our teen raved about it. Be careful to use regular gouda, not smoked or you'll be overpowered with smokiness from bbq sauce and cheeze. Fresh cilantro really lit it up. It's a keeper in my cookbook. excellent 10/28/2006 at 11:09am User: Anonymous User Rating: This pizza is excellent, but I did use frozen bread dough for the crust and not the refrigerated kind. I also didn't use cilantro as my family does not care for it. I sprinkled the top of the pizza with some finely chopped green onions. YUM!!! Simple and Tasty 10/27/2006 at 12:10am User: Anonymous User Rating: This dish was easy to make and was pretty tasty, and kid-friendly too! We liked the bbq flavor. This is a good recipe for when you don't feel much like cooking. Yuck 10/20/2006 at 10:27am User: Anonymous User Rating: We didn't like this one bit. Overwhelmed by the BBQ sauce. The crust was cardboardy. BBQ Chicken Pizza 09/04/2006 at 09:48am User: ELLA from mt. jackson, VA User Rating: It is different. Not one that I would have much. It wasn't for us. But still not the worest. Excellent! 08/18/2006 at 11:32pm User: Crystal from Grayson, KY User Rating: Yummy and very tasty! I had roasted a chicken the night before and used it on the pizza and it was great! 5* Great!! 06/13/2006 at 11:13am User: Stephanie from South Elgin, IL User Rating: The Bullseye Original sauce made a huge difference to the overall flavor. It turned out great!! Gouda 06/04/2006 at 02:03pm User: Chris from Hilliard, OH User Rating: I thought that the Gouda cheese was a bit overpowering in this recipe. Other than that it was a very good pizza. OMG this was Terrible 05/19/2006 at 12:09pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have had BBQ chicken pizza before but it tasted a lot better than this. This tasted terrible. Just BBQ sauce, nothing else. Quite tasty 05/18/2006 at 11:00pm User: Donna from Scranton, PA User Rating: As we don't have California Pizza Kitchens in our area, we have nothing to compare this recipe to. Other than doubling the amount of chicken, as suggested by a previous reviewer, we made the recipe as written and found it quite tasty. It's great when you don't have much time. We'll make it again. family pleaser 05/13/2006 at 11:14am User: Kelly from Carlsbad, CA User Rating: I was a little hesitant to attempt this recipe since my husband is a BBQ chicken pizza LOVER. But both he and my daughter were very pleased with the taste. The only modification I made was that I used Trader Joes' pizza dough instead of Pillsbury. This is a keeper for us. excellent!!! 05/05/2006 at 08:52pm User: Emily from Redlands, CA User Rating: Very yummy pizza 2 Stars 05/04/2006 at 03:10pm User: Verleen from Tulsa, OK User Rating: I've never made pizza at home and this probably was my first and last try. The dough was hard to stretch out and the pizza just didn't taste anything like regular pizza. tasted sort of like a big biscuit with BBQ sauce on it. Unbelievably easy and yummy too! 05/04/2006 at 01:16pm User: Tara from Austin, TX User Rating: I have to admit that I didn't expect a lot from this recipe mainly because it uses canned dough and a quick-cooking chicken method. Boy was I wrong! This pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted totally homemade. The addition of the cilantro after cooking is a nice, fresh touch. Although it's just my boyfriend and I, I think this recipe would work wonderfully for busy families as well. Denise 05/03/2006 at 07:53pm User: Denise from Sterling Heights, MI User Rating: Crust was a lil dry, flavor was good. Family didn't mind it, I would make it again. Not as good as we expected 05/03/2006 at 03:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We expected a lot better, frankly. This was barely edible. Great for Low Fat 04/29/2006 at 06:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made my own crust, used no-fat cheese, and the result was outstanding! Passable in a pinch 04/28/2006 at 02:15pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Edible. That's the nicest thing I can say about it. It's not as good as frozen pizza. Not by a mile. Disappointing 04/27/2006 at 04:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I love CPK and made this based on all the good reviews. But the pizza was really disappointing. It didn't taste much, if at all, like CPK. No one liked it. I performed a taste test just for family fun 04/27/2006 at 03:25pm User: lilly from jolliet, IL User Rating: using this recipe and the frozen version. This recipe fell way short of the frozen version. Analysis reveals that this is more expesive to make and obviously more time. My family preferred the frozen version. terrific pizza 04/25/2006 at 11:26pm User: Anonymous User Rating: my family loved this. Husbands favorite! 04/24/2006 at 11:16pm User: Anonymous User Rating: He ate the whole thing, now I can make his favorite at home! Thanks FN! This recipe looked good 04/19/2006 at 07:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't that great. Hubby thought it was alright but the kiddos didn't like it one bit. Wasn't as good as I expected 04/14/2006 at 04:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I prefer take-out. My husband said he'd be just as happy with the frozen kind, plus it's easier than this was. Easy but not very good 04/08/2006 at 12:03am User: Anonymous User Rating: There are much better versions out there. Different-good 04/03/2006 at 05:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The BBQ flavor with the feel of pizza is so good and different, and when using a low fat pizza crust is very low in fat too. I made some modifications too 03/28/2006 at 06:15pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I started with a Boboli crust and substituted tomato sauce for the BBQ and pepperoni for the chicken and used different cheeses and toppings. It was okay but nothing special. Really Disappointing 03/28/2006 at 04:27pm User: Anonymous User Rating: After all the good reviews, I thought this would be a winner. But it's really only barely edible. Best BBQ pizza I've ever eaten 03/28/2006 at 02:40pm User: CHERYL from Orlando, FL User Rating: I made this pizza for dinner last night and it turned out great! I used a few modifications to get the pizza how I wanted. I used a Boboli thin crust piza shell, honey barbecue sauce, about a pound of chicken tenders (so the whole pizza was covered with chicken)for the cheese I used a cheeder / jack mix and the parmesan and just the right amount of onion and cilantro to my liking. I'll definitely be making this one again. YUM! Could have been a lot better 03/23/2006 at 08:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I'm not sure how to improve this recipe but cpk does a much better version. Delicious !! 03/23/2006 at 03:34pm User: Melanie from Shawnee, KS User Rating: This was so delicious. I used smoked provolone cheese instead of the gouda and used less onion. Can't wait to make it again soon. Not what we expected 03/21/2006 at 11:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Sort of sweet and cheesy rather than barbecuey. We won't be trying this again. Nowhere near as good as we expected 03/17/2006 at 08:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We'd rather have frozen, it's a lot less work and tastes just as good. Good 03/17/2006 at 06:09pm User: mayria from Louisville, KY User Rating: Pretty good recipe. I've made it twice all ready. Definately added to my recipe book 02/10/2006 at 11:51am User: Laqueta from Santee, CA User Rating: This was easy and delicious. My husband couldn't get enough of it (and he's not a big eater). I'll share this one with my entire family! Easy and good 02/08/2006 at 07:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I recommend Really only ok 02/05/2006 at 04:24pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I really wanted to like this at home version of BBQ chicken pizza, however, it was just a mediocre copy of CPK's recipe. You won't be sorry you made this! 02/04/2006 at 01:00am User: Anonymous User Rating: If you love it as much as we did! so 02/02/2006 at 09:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: good! This tasted like BBQ'd chicken pizza!! 02/01/2006 at 08:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Just like I thought it would! Very good! super good 02/01/2006 at 03:15am User: Anonymous User Rating: pizza awesome pizza 02/01/2006 at 12:36am User: Anonymous User Rating: This pizza has great flavor, and it's cheaper and faster than take out! Unpleasant Taste 01/30/2006 at 03:09pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Too much BBQ sauce. Probably would be ok with less sauce or more chicken. fantastic pizza idea! 01/28/2006 at 08:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I went to the pizza parlor and bought a crust. This came out wonderful. excellent :-) 01/28/2006 at 04:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: i just made this today for friends that came over for lunch. first of all i LOVE semi homemade with sandra lee & i'm constantly trying her recipes. this was a total hit!!!! thanks sandra lee :-) great BBQ'd chicken pizza 01/28/2006 at 12:39am User: Anonymous User Rating: Thx!!!! and thanks for your opinions. Great 01/27/2006 at 09:19pm User: Tess from Houston, TX User Rating: Tastes great - easy to make 2 Stars 01/25/2006 at 05:11pm User: Dyannna from Seal Beach, CA User Rating: Just not that good. Sorry. Marsha is spot on 01/24/2006 at 06:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This isn't anything like a cpk pie. And I should know. Great Dish 01/24/2006 at 09:59am User: Risa from Omaha, NE User Rating: Very easy to make. For some reason i couldn't find pizza dough in the refridgerated section at the store so I picked up crescent rolls instead. It worked. My boyfriend is really picky and he really liked it. CPK? NOYL! 01/23/2006 at 06:08pm User: Marsha from Hollywood, CA User Rating: (Not On Your Life) I prepared the recipe as stated and the chicken and crust were bland. Either the chicken needs to be cooked with some spices or, after cooking fully, glazed in the pan with some of the BBQ sauce. If you have Sweet Baby Ray's sauce where you live, do yourself a favor and use it: The "Spicy" version is especially flavorful. Speaking of flavor, the crust has none and the texture is questionable. Perhaps placing it on some cornmeal prior to baking would help. This pizza is awesome 01/22/2006 at 12:42am User: Anonymous User Rating: and so easy! Next time I am going to take the advice I read and add pineapple too. We will be making this a lot. Easy & Great tasting 01/22/2006 at 12:28am User: jess from susanville, CA User Rating: My husband and I ate the entire pizza during dinner. I would add more chicken then what it calls for. I also added canned pineapple, yumm! Pizzzzzza! 01/20/2006 at 07:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is one FANTASTIC PIZZA! Yummy 01/19/2006 at 10:59am User: Anonymous User Rating: Tasted great! Even warmed up. Great pizza! 01/18/2006 at 10:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Thanks! The only thing I did different was stop at the pizza place and buy some pizza dough. My family loved this :) "cheap and thin?" 11/21/2005 at 08:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Is that a veiled comment about the show's hostess? I LOVE PIE 11/15/2005 at 06:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: very good meal. easy to make. instead of cilantro, parsley is also very good! a hit! 10/26/2005 at 07:37am User: Anonymous User Rating: This pizza relly does taste like CPK! The only thing that I did different was use more chicken than what was called for. |
