An Easy Snack 12/06/2004 at 09:25am User: KIMBERLY from North Port, FL User Rating: I tried these for a party, and everyone seemed to love them. I used a sweeter bacon, so the flavor was a little sweeter than I expected. The consistency was fantastic!! Perfect! 12/05/2004 at 03:41pm User: LISA from Naples, FL User Rating: I fixed these for my family for a night in front of the TV and ended up making 3 batches! Hit of the party 12/05/2004 at 09:53am User: STEPHANIE from Dumfries, VA User Rating: I made these for a group get together and I brought my plate home empty! The only thing I would recomend is to use a good quality bacon, the bacon I used once cooked wasn't very pretty. Good thing they tasted good! a cook from richmond, va 11/13/2004 at 04:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: these are simple and taste fabulous. hard to find such an easy prep with such great flavor. Folks dogged them at our last party and we prepped 6 per person. Also good with almonds, goat cheese, chicken livers, etc. Great Starter!!! 10/23/2004 at 07:06pm User: JUDY from chino hills, CA User Rating: These little appetizers are great. I have served them so many times and am constantly asked for the recipe. WOW a little too sweet 10/13/2005 at 02:59pm User: lidna from prairieville, LA User Rating: I thought this recipe was good but maybe a little too sweet. I piped some goat cheese inside the dates which was a lot of work but gave them a little bit of tang that they needed. Popular dish at card game gathering. yummmmm 09/24/2006 at 10:45pm User: BARBARA from Stevensville, MI User Rating: I made these even though i'm not much of a date fan, but they are so much better than I thought. Everyone loved them. I highly recommend this recipe. Thanks again Paula. :) Perfect Holiday Treat 09/09/2005 at 01:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This treat was well-received at my Christmas party. Kind of messy to put together (the dates are so sticky), but worth it. Quick Lil' Incredibles 07/15/2006 at 08:33am User: Irene from Galveston, TX User Rating: because of the mixture of flavors! I used a center cut bacon (cutting each slice in half)which was leaner providing less grease. Also, I was able to squeeze two pecan halves into each date. Serving warm instead of cold tasted better as the warmth only enhanced the each ingredient. O-MY-GOODNESS! 07/10/2007 at 01:30pm User: Crystal from THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN User Rating: This is a wonderful recipe. When the dates come out of the oven you can't wait to bite in to them. The dates are so carmaly and the salt from the bacon is a perfect match. It tastes a little like baked beans. My Honey told me any thing wrapped in bacon is going to be good; that is true for this recipe. Thank you Paula! This are great! 06/26/2006 at 03:57pm User: Ann from Clayton, NC User Rating: This stuffed dates are wonderful. My husband was the one that encouraged me to write this review. However, once I was out of dates, so I substituted dried apricots instead, and it was such a hit that now I have to make both. Pecan dates 04/17/2006 at 12:53am User: Anonymous User Rating: These did not work well for me. The bacon did not cook evenly. I was not crazy about the date combo either but my family enjoyed them. If i wouldve known, would have made 4 batches. the 60 or so didnt last long. Great Appetizer! 01/15/2008 at 02:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The sweet dates and salty bacon was a surprisingly delicious combination! Yummy appetizer over the holidays. Use a high quality bacon, so it cooks faster, otherwise the dates get overcooked. Great at room temp too! YUMMMM 01/06/2005 at 03:33pm User: JOHN from Hendersonville, TN User Rating: This recipe is phenominal- so EASY to make and they disappear quick. BEST when served warm- and they get sticky when they get cold. PAULA rocks!! tasty dates 01/03/2005 at 04:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Just made these for my New Year's gathering and it was a hit. Everyone enjoyed them and saw a few go back for more again and again. The texture was perfect and the sweetness of the dates, the crunchiness of the pecans, and the smokiness of the bacon went wonderful together. Yum Yum 01/02/2006 at 08:08am User: Diane from Ellsworth,, MI User Rating: This recipe was a hit with the whole family on the holidays. Quick and easy to fix and definitely will serve again. Great for breakfast or parties. Try this baked with Sweet and Sour Sauce...Yum! 01/01/2006 at 05:09pm User: Anonymous User Rating: To make this a 5 star I brush or spoon on some Sweet and Sour sauce and then bake on a wire rack that sits on top of a cookie sheet lined with foil. You get a wonderful sweet, salty, chewy, crunchy texture that makes them so good. I don't even like dates, however I LOVE these!!! They are a favorite in my family and were a big hit at my Xmas party this year. |
