Its so good, im sitting here at my computer eating it!! I couldnt even wait until i was done to rate it.. I ended up making this recipe with a few cans of diced canned tomatoes (thought i had a ton in my garden and someone had gotten to them before i did) -- the OJ was a great addition to the soup, gave it a whole new depth of flavor. (plus with the crushed red pepper, its the perfect balance between hot and sweet). This is so simple to make and so healthy!!!

This far exceeded my expectations, it was very easy to make, actually cooks up pretty quick and it was soooo good! I replaced the water and OJ with chicken broth. Served this with a Spinach Penne dish of Giada's and it was a great meal - healthy and filling.

Made this with "extra" homegrown tomatoes and fresh squeezed orange juice. We ate it hot with French bread but I bet it would be good cold. My hubby ate all the leftover soup for breakfast! This recipe is super simple and delicious.

I don't even like tomato soup and really like this recipe. My summer garden was full of ripe tomatoes and I was ready for a new way of eating them. This recipe was simple and really tasty. Really better the second day around.

A great way to use those very ripe late season tomatoes. Preparation is easy and fast. The combination of ingredients gives the soup great sparkle and zip and it's as delicious cold as hot. Teams beautifully with fresh-from-the-oven home made bread.

this was a great, fairly simple recipe for fresh tomato soup. the addition of the basil pesto put it over the top. i made a few changes - did not have o.j. and water seemed fairly blase, so i substituted white wine and vegetable broth for those 2 liquids. really good. i'll be making it again.

Wonderful Taste!

I've never made a homemade soup before, and I'm not a huge fan of tomato soup in general, but this soup was SO good that I've changed my mind about tomato soup completely! Easy to make and great tasting to boot!

Easy, but not overly complex flavor

Made this Summer Tomato Soup recipe in the winter with ripe roma tomatoes. Needed to boost the red 'tomato-y' look with a couple of generous shots of canned ground peeled tomatoes. Nice and healthy, but the flavors were not overly complex.

excellent

add sherry instead of orange juice and no honey. Add a few roasted red peppers.

I have been making this soup for the past two summers, and it still is a favorite. We have passed it on to friends, whom enjoy it as well. It is delicious cold as well, however my personal preference is room temp. Enjoy!

Cold-served is the way to go with this soup. Utterly refreshing. Use very ripe tomatoes. In my recipe box it goes!

This soup is absolutely fabulous. this was my first try at making tomato soup and it was soooo easy and took hardly any time at all. I tried it both hot and cold and was really surprised at the difference in taste. I plan on making several batches and freezing it so when it's the middle of winter and there are only no flavor hot house tomatoes around I can enjoy this terrific soup.

I like this soup, it was a fantastic use of the abundant crop of summer tomatoes; but it did need a little extra flavor for my taste.
