Ina Garten's gorgonzola sauce is wonderfully rich and delicious with any beef dish. It especially tastes wonderful over sauteed steaks.

Multi-purpose Gorgonzola Sauce

I made this sauce several years ago after seeing Ina prepare a holiday tenderloin, and it was fabulous. Several days later, when I had to make emergency snacks for a club party, I spread some leftover sauce on lavash bread, layered thinly sliced deli roast beef on it, rolled it up and made pinwheel hors d'oeuvres that everyone loved. Another time, I used the leftover sauce, chilled, as a dip with pretzel rods. Scrumptious! Thanks, Ina.

Last night I served this sauce over some gnocchi and grilled chicken breasts -- it was fabulous. Only mistake I made was turning my back on the boiling heavy cream......gotta keep an eye on it or you might have to clean your stove like I did -- it was worth it though.

Amazing

This sauce was amazing. I made it to serve with garlic bread to imitate a recipe from one of my favorite restaurants. It was delicious! I didn't even want to eat the rest of my dinner. It didn't really take 50 minutes to make, the heavy cream will boil over if the heat is too high, but that is easily adjusted so that it is just boiling. I can't wait to use the leftovers in chicken roll-ups!

Wonderful

I had a dinner party for 8 people last week and everyone one just keep commenting on the dinner. Especially the gorgonzola sauce. I used it to drizzle over Grilled Trip tip ( another recipe from food network) The left over sauce we used a couple of days later over tortellini. This sauce is the best. My guest said the meal topped most of the 4 star resturants in the area.

It's not quick, but it IS easy and the taste is outstanding. It satisfied my hunger for a rich sauce over some grilled chicken breasts and passed my fussy 11 year old son's taste test. I also sauteed some mushrooms and served the sauce over the mushrooms on the chicken. The combination was outstanding.

Delicious!

This sauce is easy and absolutely delicious. Even my husband liked this, and he doesn't like blue cheese. I will definitely keep this recipe and use it often, both for casual dining and for entertaining.

I know that some might avoid this with the heavy cream and gorgonzola but it's worth every calorie and gram of fat. Because of this we had it with a roasted turkey breat instead of the beef and enjoyed it to with the wedge potatoes. Don't let it sit to long after it's done, it starts to separate. But it is 100% delicious!!!

i thought this sauce was fabulous. i didn't use it to dip into though; i made this sauce instead with some steak (cut into small pieces and cooked with some balsamic vinegar for a sweet glaze) and fettucini. very similar tasting to a recipe served at an "olive" restaurant.

This sauce was wonderful! It was easy, but I had to stir it ALOT to avoid boiling over. There was a bit of excess fat on the top, but I just scooped and tossed it. There was none left! The roasted potatoes dipped well in it too!

Wonderful!

Absolutely loved this sauce! I used it when we had some friends over for dinner. I put it over some grilled portabello mushrooms to recreate an appetizer we love from a favorite restaurant. No one left a drop on their plate. I will be using this sauce with several items.

Honestly, this sauce with Ina's filet of beef is the best thing I have ever tasted in my entire life. I am not kidding. If I had to pick my favorite meal ever, it would be this sauce with a beef tenderloin.

Very easy to prepare; pleased most of my guests - even those that didn't normally care for the taste of gorgonzola cheese tried it after seeing others enjoying it so much and raved about the sauce! The sauce complemented the potatoes and asparagus I served also and wouldn't limit its use as a meat sauce in the future.

Excellent but rich

This sauce is so good! I made the whole meal from this show and it was a huge hit with my family. I sometimes make the sauce for regular steaks too. It's easy, but I have to appoint someone in the kitchen to man the whisk so it doesn't take as long to cook, but doesn't burn.

Personally, I think putting any sauce on a great fillet is kind of gilding the lilly but if you must, this is a good one. Just be extemely careful when reducing the cream unless you want to redecorate the kitchen - it boils over in a heartbeat - don't just turn it on high and walk away!

I gave it a try, but 50 minutes to boil heavy cream is too much. Try Rachael Ray's 30 minute version where she makes 3 sauces in 30 minutes. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_27614,00.html

I made this for my future in laws, and for her to ask for the recipe, I knew it was good! It was so easy to make (a little time consuming, but well worth it)and tastes great reheated too. I'm very intimidated by cooking, but I serve this recipe along with the filet of beef and potatoes at dinner parties now and feel confident that our guests will leave with a full belly and a smile!

Served sauce on New Years Eve with the tenderloin and it was a hit. The gorgonzola flavor was subtle and just perfect with the filet. The recipe was simple just that it took quite a while for it to cook down but worth the wait.

This sauce is excellent with most roasts and steaks. Although it's important to check the heavy cream and make sure it's not sweetened. Also, this recipe makes a lot of sauce, I would cut it in half unless you're entertaining a group.
