Light as air! 11/25/2006 at 03:37pm User: Stacey from Ashburn, VA User Rating: This scone recipe by Alton Brown is excellent. Quick and easy to make, they don't have the "heavy" feeling as others do when coming out of the oven. The taste is first rate and when combined with an orange glaze it makes a wonderful change from muffins in the morning. A great family treat! Yumm! 11/21/2004 at 07:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These are great and easy to make, my only suggestion, bake a bit longer. Also great with a little lemon zest. Wonderful and So Easy! 11/09/2005 at 01:32am User: Anonymous User Rating: This is a great recipe! Much easier than some scone recipes. I added a pinch of cinnamon to mine, using "Craisins" and it turned out great! Great recipe 11/07/2004 at 01:33pm User: EMILY from Silver Spring, MD User Rating: These were excellent scones. The dough was a bit sticky and hard to work with. I would have liked them with more than a handful of fruit, but then again I have somewhat small hands. Adjusted scones 08/27/2006 at 10:26am User: Joseph from Beaverton, OR User Rating: I love these scones, although I have learned that adding all of the liquid caled for makes the dough way too sticky. I actually use the egg as part of the 3/4 cup. Also, I always have to bake the scones longer than called for in the recipe. YUMMY!!!!! 08/09/2007 at 09:55pm User: Lise from Hauppauge, NY User Rating: Super easy, super delicious, foolproof. I get requests for this recipe and people are amazed how moist they are. IT IS SOOOO DELICIOUS!! I usually hate scones, but I'm probably about to eat all these up before my guest gets here. It is probably the easiest baking recipe I've ever tried. I split the dough up and added fresh blueberries to one and fresh strawberries and cherries to another and they are to die for. Seriously, try this one and see. Too rich 07/09/2006 at 09:53am User: Anonymous User Rating: In today's life style of low fat and low cholesterol eating, this recipe needs to be updated to vegetable shortening, or light margarine, and skim milk and egg substitutes. Melt in Your Mouth Scones 06/24/2005 at 11:11am User: Sarah from Madison, WI User Rating: This is a great recipe and these scones are delicious and easy to make. Not like typical dry scones, these melt in your mouth! I made the batter ahead of time and kept it in the fridge, then made a few when I wanted them (they get kind of dry the next day). The batter is good for about a week in the fridge. I also like to make smaller bite sized scones and use my cookie cutters to make cool shapes.
