Q: I just started Atkins and am becoming bored with eggs, bacon, and coffee. What are some other foods I can begin incorporating? I love sweets and miss snacks.
Melissa M., Allentown, PA

George: Low carb living should never be boring! Bacon and eggs are low in carbs, but there’s so much more.

Try making too much dinner on certain nights so you’ll have leftovers for snacking and even breakfast or lunch the next day. I’ll make chicken breasts for dinner and then have it as a salad for lunch.

For a quick and easy snack, I love to pick at cheeses and Italian meats like prosciutto and mortadella. Nuts such as macadamias, almonds, walnuts, and pecans are also great for snacking. Satisfy your cravings for sweets by using sugar substitutes to reinvent your favorite desserts.

The next time you're in your supermarket, take a stroll around the outer aisles and get some ideas -- that’s where you'll find all the fresh low carb foods you're craving!

"Keep On Low Carbin’!"
