Q: Which foods are highest in carbohydrates?
Brenda S., Belpre, OH

George: There are stereotypical high carb foods that should be avoided while living low carb. Sugar, potatoes, pasta, white flour, candy, chips, ketchup (yes, ketchup - it’s full of sugar), and white rice are good ones to eliminate right off the bat!

So, you may not be able to have white bread, but you can make low carb bread with soy flour. No potatoes? Try using cauliflower in your favorite potato salad or
mashed potato recipe. Best of all, your favorite dessert recipes can easily be recreated using a sugar substitute.

The important point to remember is that there are always alternatives to the foods you should avoid while living a low carb lifestyle.

"Keep On Low Carbin’!"
